Oral cancer claims one life an hour in the US alone, and of those patients diagnosed this year, more than half will not live five years beyond this diagnosis. Research conducted by the Oral Cancer Foundation suggests that early detection is the best way to decrease the number of annual deaths associated with oral cancer. To do their part to prevent oral cancer-related deaths, the Skyline Dentistry team screens for oral cancer during every six month dental checkup. Many dentists provide visual and manual examination and we do as well, but we also use the state-of-the-art VELscope® system to pinpoint signs of oral cancer in the earliest possible stages. VELscope® simply uses a specialized light that makes potentially cancerous lesions instantly visible. Once we find these areas, we can further examine them, and recommend patients seek more advanced biopsy diagnosis. Our hope is to make sure patients receive diagnosis in the early, treatable stages of oral cancer, and we can partner with them throughout their treatment to maintain a healthy smile.

BioLase

Unlike other dental lasers, the BioLase system offers effective treatments for both hard and soft tissues. We use this effective technology to prepare teeth for tooth decay treatment, remove damaged gum tissue, and smooth tooth roots to prevent plaque and tartar buildup. All of these services are completed in comfort.

SIROLaser

The SIROLaser offers our patients precise and comfortable soft tissue therapy. With minimal bleeding and inflammation during treatment and fast healing times following, the SIROLaser makes it possible for patients with gum disease to achieve significant improvement in oral health right away with very little impact on their daily routine.
